Medical sharp waste is considered hazardous waste. Those items should be returned to your pharmacy, or be disposed of in a heavy-duty plastic container with the lid properly
secured with duct tape, labeled, and disposed of at a hazardous waste disposal center or during a quarterly hazardous waste collection day.
